Sam’s Zumba and Dance

Sam teaches multiple different types of community fitness sessions including dance and Zumba classes.

Her body equilibrium class is one shes designed herself to be suitable for those with mobility or health issues, the older generation who are fit and not so fit. It includes seated and standing exercises, bands and some seated core work.

Zumba

Zumba Fitness is a class which uses the music of South America and beyond to create a fun medium impact exercise class using a range of rhythms from Merengue, to Salsa, Tango and Bachata

Anyone can join these classes, you need to love music and have no major mobility issues as it’s a standing class with some high impact moves such as small jumps and squats.

This class is the epitome of escape, for that one hour you are engaged in Zumba Fitness you’re not thinking of anything else. It promotes excellent mental well-being as well as releasing endorphins, improving co-ordination and group camaraderie.

You’ll need to wear suitable clothing and trainers. You’ll require a drink and a small towel. No partner, so you can come on your own.

Dance Fit

Dance Fit is a class which uses dance steps to create small routines. these alternate legs and arm sequences to promote better co-ordination. The way the class is structured also trains the brain especially memory. Although the warm-up stays the same each week, we learn a new dance routine each week to keep the class varied and engaging.

Body Equilibrium

Body Equilibrium is a class which focuses on improving balance, developing strength and then flexibility. We stand initially to perform a gentle warm-up. Next we look at balancing, by repeating moves to music like standing on one leg. We then sit down and using a resistance band we focus on exercises for the arms then the legs. Still sitting we engage in routines for core stability and standing up from a chair. Lastly, we gently stretch all the muscles to improve our range of motion.

Anyone can join these classes, this is especially useful if you want to build strength and confidence for your day to day. This is a low impact class suited to a wide range of people.

This class is fun first and foremost, we use music to help keep to tempo with the exercises, it’s a relaxed class which focuses on all the elements we need to keep mobile and active as we grow older.

You’ll need to wear suitable loose and comfortable clothing. You’ll require a drink and a small towel. A floor mat if you want to stretch on the floor (not necessary as all exercises are adapted for the chair) Resistance band can be purchased from me.
