Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in the US and is rapidly becoming popular in the UK too. This fun, fast-paced game combines elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis, and can be played both indoors or outdoors on a badminton-size court with a slightly modified tennis net.
It’s easy to learn and simple to play. Players use hard paddles to hit the ball over the net, and a light perforated plastic ‘wiffle ball’ to play.
There is also a Wheelchair version of the sport that has a growing community of players around the world. Wheelchair players can play with standing players, or on their own.
“I really enjoy the pickleball sessions at the leisure centre, it’s a really fun sport for lots of different people with different abilities. It’s a good workout and feels exciting & new as it’s not something I’ve done before. I really love coming to play”
