Walking Cricket

Try Something New! Walking Cricket in Lincolnshire

Walking Cricket is exactly what you’d expect from the name. This slower-paced version of the game is played indoors and only walking is allowed. If you used to play cricket, this walking format is a perfect way to get back into the game. If you are new to cricket, then the slower pace gives you a little more time to react as you pick it up.

The game is usually played with mixed-gender teams and is suitable for players of any age.

As no running is involved and the boundaries (the edge of the playing area) are closer to it being played indoors, walking cricket is less physically demanding than the traditional version of the sport. Walking has a lower impact on your joints but you’ll still raise your heart rate as the friendly competition creeps in with this fun team sport.

As a team sport, it helps you meet new people whilst staying active and being part of a friendly like-minded community.

“Earlier this year, for the first time in almost forty years, I picked up a cricket ball and cricket bat once more. Though my bowling arm may not be so high, nor my footwork so nifty these days, walking cricket has allowed me to take part again in a game that I love so much. Moreover, I have been fortunate enough to return to playing cricket with a great bunch of like-minded people. Not only do we play a great game, but we also have a great time.”
