New Bump Boost sessions available in Lincolnshire for mums-to-be

New Bump Boost aqua sessions have launched at Leisure Centres in South Kesteven and Boston. The Bump Boost programme supports pregnant women to exercise at their own pace in the pool through a therapeutic personalised water based programme followed on waterproof tablets.

Being physically active during pregnancy brings huge health benefits including controlled blood pressure and reducing the likelihood of gestational diabetes; not to mention the secondary benefits such as improved sleep and improved mood.

Exercising in water provides a low-impact way to be active for women that overcomes many of the barriers to physical activity that may be experienced during pregnancy.

Benefits of the Bump Boost Programme include:

  • Relieving joint aches and pains
  • Reducing pregnancy associated swelling due to increased blood flow
  • Feeling lighter due to the buoyancy of the water, creating a feeling of weightlessness

Classes are currently running at Grantham Meres Leisure Centre, every Tuesday at 12.15pm, and at Boston Leisure Centre, on Thursdays at 10:00am.

Both centres also run Good Boost Sessions which are aimed at anyone who wants to enjoy the benefits of low impact exercise, but are particularly suitable for people with musculoskeletal conditions such as arthritis, hip, knee and back pain.

Contact each centre to find out more.
