The Water Rail Way

The Water Rail Way is a purpose built trail linking Lincoln to Boston with a range of artwork along the way.

Following the River Witham from Lincoln to Boston, the mostly traffic free off-road route ideal for cycling and walking, and suitable for families.

The full route is 33 miles in length and fairly flat throughout. There are various access points along the route helping you set a suitable distance. It passes through the village of Bardney where there is a heritage centre – about nine miles into the ride.

The Water Rail Way is along a scenic route with commissioned artwork along the route depicting Lincolnshire’s assets and inspired by the words of Lincolnshire’s own, Alfred Lord Tennyson.
