Lincoln Arboretum

Situated just a short distance from the bustling centre of Lincoln, the Arboretum is a perfect place for a lunchtime stroll, or a weekend walk.

The park contains gardens, lakes, fountains, Victorian bandstand and a children’s play area, and maze. It is well maintained and was the first park in Lincolnshire to be awarded a green flag award (the national standard for parks and green spaces in England and Wales).

The Arboretum is owned and managed by the City of Lincoln Council. The park was originally designed and laid out between 1870 and 1872 by Edward Milner, one of the most celebrated Victorian gardeners of his time. In 2003 £3 million worth of restoration work was carried out on the park to bring it back to its original beauty, and allow people to enjoy it as it was intended.
